Kamalgad fort is located on the pinnacle can be easily seen from the Pasarani Ghat providing it a certain mystical aura. Owing to its quaint beauty and green landscapes surrounding it, this fort has also been featured in famous Bollywood movies like ‘Swades’ and ‘Being Cyrus’.
Untouched by overwhelming tourists this remote fort is surrounded by the waters of Dhom Dam from three sides, a picturesque old beauty, the entire fort seems to be singing the tale of its old glorious days. Unravel the picturesque landscapes and amphitheater beauty of the surrounding hills from the top.
Many visitors are surprised to find stone-cut deep “geru” well. You can climb down the steps in this 50-feet deep well to get to the base. The sides of the well are made from naturally cut rocks and it still holds water.

▪06:00 AM Start journey from Sarasbaug towards Kamalgad Fort.
▪08:00 AM Reach Kamalgad base village 'Nandgune', have breakfast and after introduction round start trek towards the Fort.
▪11:00 AM Reach the top of the fort, Have a brief historical information session about fort and a free discussion session.
▪11:15 Start sightseeing and visit ancient places.
▪12:30 PM After exploring fort, have freshly cooked lunch.
▪2:00 PM Start descending the fort.
▪5:00 PM Reach Base ‘Nandgune’ and start bus journey towards Pune
▪09:00 PM Reach Pune.
